Renault star Daniel Ricciardo has confirmed it’s been harder for him to follow other cars through corners compared to 2019, saying this year’s cars generate more ‘dirty air’.
Racing Point remain unworried about Mercedes’ reliability issues during pre-season in Barcelona, saying the engine’s many failures in testing are “known problems” which should be resolved by the start of the season.
The penultimate day of testing is in the books, and while we *still* haven’t seen any qualifying runs from pretty much every team, patterns are starting to become apparent – one of which is that, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, Mercedes engines could be unreliable.
It was a busy one on the first day of test two at the Circuit de Catalunya, with 18 of the 20 drivers (plus the timesheet-topping Robert Kubica) braving the Spanish track across the whole of Wednesday. Being on the scene for all of the action, there were more than enough takeaways.
